Life is a Canvas : Musings on Creativity, Good Food + Mindful Living ...

Technology
I recently downloaded SigNote, which is an app that lets you add hand-drawn elements or handwriting to your photos. You just take a photo of a drawing or writing on plain white paper, and then layer it over one of your photos and share it to any platform. It's inspired me to start a little
Monday Morning Hello exercise on Instagram (@CaitiSantaMaria) to practice my hand lettering, if you'd like to follow along.

Also, I just started using SleepCycle, and I can tell that I'm going to geek out over its charts and stats on how I sleep. I also love that it helps you wake up easier by making your alarm go off when you are in the lightest phase of your sleep cycle. And the alarm noise choices make it sound like you are waking up in a spa!

Food & Drink
While I've always been a tea drinker, living in Ireland turned my occasional cups into a daily occurrence. Now that we're back home, I'm enjoying the best of both worlds-- my favorite tea I bought in Ireland, Twining's Camomile and Spiced Apple tea, and my favorite staples, Cinnamon Roasted Almond from Todd & Holland (very similar to Forever Nuts from David's Tea) and Hot Lips from David's Tea.

As for food, I'm completely obsessed with Trader Joe's Chocolate-Covered Power Berries. I first had them this summer when I was visiting my mom in Wisconsin, and I made sure to stock up this week during one of several major kitchen re-stocking grocery trips.

Books
I'm late to the party, but I'm completely wrapped up in Gone Girl and loving it so far. Everyone has read this book already, and I can totally see why there's so much hype around it-- it's dark and mysterious and creepy and twisty-turny. Funny story: We went out to a tapas restaurant in Barcelona and happened to be seated near a table of American tourists. At one point during their meal, I overheard them start to talk about having finished Gone Girl, and I panicked that they were about to spoil it for me. I immediately began speaking obnoxiously loud and fast to Mark to drown out their voices. I'm sure I made quite a wonderful impression on the restaurant staff, but desperate times call for desperate measures :)

TV
Parenthood. There's something oddly satisfying and wonderfully cathartic about a show that makes me cry on a weekly basis.?

Music
Mumford & Sons' new album, Babel, is now out and is already getting serious air time in my world. I don't love it quite as much as the first, but it will still be a perfect soundtrack for this fall season.

Other sounds of fall for me: Wintersleep, Radical Face, Ben Howard, James Vincent McMorrow (whom I recently discovered is from Ireland!) and the Birdy Pandora station.

Miscellaneous
Being able to order iced tea in restaurants again. Reuniting with Chipotle, Jimmy John's, Five Guys, Panera, Whole Foods, and Trader Joe's, as well as a favorite selection of local places. Streaming Pandora again. Fuzzy blankets. Stove top popcorn. Yellow and red leaves that look like confetti on the sidewalks.
