Prostate cancer is the most common form of cancer found in men.?

Unfortunately, when prostate cancer symptoms are present, it is usually in a later stage of the disease.? The signs of prostate cancer, known as lower urinary tract symptoms, can include delayed or slowed start of urinary stream, dribbling or leakage of urine (most often after urinating), slow urinary stream, straining when urinating or not being able to empty out all of the urine, blood in the urine or semen, bone pain, and significant weight loss.?
The American Urologic Association recommends men to begin getting yearly PSA blood tests and digital rectal exams at the age of 50. It is also important for men to become aware of risk factors for prostate cancer, such as family history or being of African American ethnicity, and become educated on the risks and benefits of PSA level testing.?
In some cases, lower urinary tract symptoms and an elevated PSA level present with a benign condition, such as an infection or enlarged prostate.?
